Probus is all about Friendship, Fellowship and Fun in retirement.

Our Probus club was formed in 1995 in Waikanae, on the Kāpiti Coast.

We currently have around 120 members, both men and women, and meet on the fourth Thursday of every month, except December.

Our meetings are held in the Waikanae Community Centre, which is on Utauta Street behind the Waikanae Memorial Hall.

New members are always welcome. If you would like to join us, please contact our Membership Secretary, Roger Faithfull: probuswaikanaecentral@gmail.com

Christmas Function, 2024

The final function for 2024, our annual Christmas dinner, was very well attended in the Community Centre. With Ian Williams and his team from Relish catering, our treasured Pip and her team taking care of organising and decorating the venue, and the inimitable Andrew and Kirsten London entertaining us with their music, it was a most successful and enjoyable way to round off our Club’s year.

In a nod to the 50th Anniversary of Probus in NZ - Kapiti Probus Club, established in 1974, was the first in the southern hemisphere - we’d decided on a ’70’s theme for the occasion, with a prize each for the best male and female ‘70’s costume (for those brave enough to participate).

All in all, the meal was very good; the music, excellent; the company, wonderful. Our thanks to Pip and her team, and to everyone who contributed in any way to the success of the evening.
